In this article, we cover the various types of payment methods and how to accept payments at the Register.

Checkout

With all of the items added to the cart, you are now ready to check out and accept payment from the customer. To begin the checkout process, tap the green PAY button located at the bottom of the cart.

Accepting Different Types of Payments

Depending on how the system is configured, you are able to accept the following forms of payment:

  • Cash
  • Credit Card (Visa/MasterCard/AMEX/Discover)
  • Gift Cards
  • House Accounts
  • Checks

Taking Cash Payments

When processing a cash transaction, you can enter the amount of cash received by the customer by tapping the set denomination values on the right-hand side of the keyboard or by manually entering the amount of cash given to you.  

Set Denomination Values:

  1. Tap the set denomination value (for example $5, $10, $20, $50, or $100).
  2. The cash drawer will automatically pop open and you will be notified of the amount of change to give to the customer, if applicable.
  3. Tap CLOSE when the change has been given to the customer to return to the home screen (till)

Manual Entry:

  1. Key in the amount the customer has given you then tap the CASH button.
  2. The cash drawer will automatically open and the notification with the amount of change to give to the customer will automatically pop up on the screen.
  3. Tap CLOSE when the change has been given to the customer to return to the home screen.

Taking Credit Card Payments

  1. On the checkout screen, tap the CARD button.
  2. A command will prompt you to insert, tap, or swipe the credit card. Note that if you need to make changes to the order, you must cancel the transaction on the credit card reader by pressing the red "X" button. 
  3. After completing the transaction on the credit card reader, the system will automatically print the receipt(s) or prompt you to print the receipt, which is based on your Receipt Printing settings. No receipt will be printed if the settings are configured to "never" print a receipt.
